Girls Cricket Club

Girls Cricket Club

Built for Girls By Girls

The Girls Cricket Club is a place for female cricketers, built by girls, for girls, to share knowledge, resources, inspiration and opportunities.

It’s a supportive and welcoming environment for girls to feel a sense of belonging within cricket and where we can serve as a independent voice for females within the game.

Founded by England cricket legend Lydia Greenway, the Girls Cricket Club is about creating opportunities for development both on and off the field and providing resources specific to girls and women to support them on their sporting journey.

Over an elite career spanning 13 years, Lydia earned 225 caps for England, winning two World Cups and five Ashes Series. She was also named England’s Player of the Year and shortlisted for the ICC World Player of the Year. While Lydia was lucky to have her dad and brother encourage her into the sport, she understands that not all girls have those opportunities early on. The Girls Cricket Club aims to reach girls who may not otherwise be exposed to cricket and to provide them with equal opportunities to play the game.

Girls Cricket Club has a high quality all-female coaching team dedicated to inspiring women and girls to enjoy cricket at all levels and to take on all challenges both on and off the sporting field.
Our coaches are available to schools and clubs during term time and school holidays.

Developing People and Providing Opportunity

At Girls Cricket Club, we offer you a rare opportunity to be coached by former international female players from all across the globe. Develop your skills through challenges and drills used by the professionals whilst having plenty of fun! It’s a supportive and welcoming environment for girls to feel a sense of belonging within cricket.

“My 11 year daughter loved the Girls Cricket Club Masterclass session at Richmond CC and would love to join any future sessions. She enjoyed being around like-minded girls and learning new shots to help her batting. Thank you to everyone involved”

“She thoroughly enjoyed the session, the interaction with the coaches was at another level, being inspired by successful female players and coaches made her switch on and really push herself at the drills your team had set-up. She still references the day as the moment where she first imagined what development within a performance environment could be like.”
